Luis Rivera, of Bridgeport, who pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault in the first degree in July, was sentenced to decades behind bars last week, the State's Attorney said. As part of his plea deal, Rivera's sentence will be suspended after 25 years.
However, he must serve 35 years on probation following his release, the prosecutor said.
Rivera was arrested in 2022 after three people came forward to say he had molested them from 1994 through 1996 when they were all under the age of 12. The two women and one man ages 33, 35, and 37, came forward separately to disclose their abuse to police, authorities said.
Police arrested Rivera in Puerto Rico on a fugitive from justice warrant.
